This is the unofficial bio page for Gavin Bon of Gavin Bond Photography. Having graduated from St Martin’s School of Art where he studied fashion design, Gavin was exposed to fashion, runways and behind the scenes of fashion shows early on in his career. In the early 90’s Gavin explored Milan and Paris and as he has always had a passion for photography from a young age, began to make it his life’s work.
Since then, his reach has expanded, working globally for events and editorially for a variety of publications including; GQ, Vanity Fair, Australian Vogue, Entertainment Weekly and US Marie Claire, to name a few. This has allowed him to work with celebrities and influencers from all walks of life, from Victoria’s Secret models and film starts to people with cultural, political or historical importance.
His favorite work is capturing what happens back stage, particularly within the fashion industry that first piqued his passion and this has led to a longstanding 14-year relationship with Victoria’ Secret and their annual shows. Gavin is also an activist, using his gift in ways like supporting the “Black Jaguar White Tiger” foundation that cares for big cats. This non-profit, aims to rescue animals and raise awareness of their captivity or treatment, rehabilitate them and work with governments to put laws and punishments in place for those who do them harm. Gavin’s role is to document the journeys and stories of these magnificent creatures and take honest, natural photos of the circumstances they face in their lives.
Gavin is currently dividing time between the west and east coasts and avidly enjoys the editorial and art scenes that he is a part of.
